Michigan Girls High School Hockey League Set to Shine at January Showcase

FRASER, Mich. — The Michigan Girls High School Hockey League (MGHSHL) is gearing up for an exciting showcase event on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Big Boy Arena in Fraser. This much-anticipated event will bring together all league teams and affiliates for a full day of competition, featuring regular-season matchups and an exhilarating skills competition.
The showcase will highlight the league’s depth of talent and foster league-wide camaraderie. The day’s events span three rinks and feature intense matchups from morning to afternoon. Teams will compete in a packed schedule, with games scheduled across Rinks #1, #3, and #5, culminating in the highly anticipated Skills Competition at 4:15 p.m. on Rink #1.
“This is an incredible opportunity for our league to come together and celebrate the talent and dedication of our players,” said Sue McDowell, MGHSHL Board President. “The games and skills competition are sure to showcase the best of what girls' high school hockey has to offer.”
The skills competition will spotlight individual talents, with players vying for titles such as fastest skater and hardest shot. Each team will send representatives to compete, adding an extra layer of excitement and energy to the day. The competition is expected to showcase the athleticism and precision that define the league’s players.
“This is one of the most exciting events we host all season,” said Paul Buscemi, Showcase Committee Chairperson and MGHSHL Board of Directors member. “It’s a chance for every team to show their best, and the skills competition will be a fan favorite that highlights the incredible individual talent in the league.”
