CANTON, Mich. (AP) — Two teams were crowned state champions Sunday as the Michigan Girls High School Hockey League concluded its season at Arctic Edge Arena.

In the Division 2 final, Regina/Lutheran North/Austin secured the title with a 2-0 shutout victory over Ann Arbor Pioneer. Goaltender Kaitlin Garrett delivered a flawless performance in net, backstopping her team to the championship.

The Division 1 final provided a dramatic finish, as Grosse Pointe South rallied to defeat Mid-Michigan Alliance 3-2. South, defending its title from last season, clinched the championship on a late third-period goal by Abby Evans. Mid-Michigan Alliance, making its first-ever appearance in the Division 1 final, held a 2-0 lead after two periods before the Blue Devils mounted their comeback.

The MGHSHL state finals once again showcased the depth of talent in Michigan Girls High School Hockey League, with both championship matchups highlighting the skill, speed, and determination fueling the sport’s growth.
