The Michigan Girls High School Hockey League Executive Board is proud to announce the success of the 2nd Annual MGHSHL Showcase & Skills Competition, held this season with outstanding participation, competition, and support.
The showcase featured 11 games in one day, bringing together all 21 varsity teams across the league, along with one JV team, competing under the same roof. This unique format highlighted the depth of talent, competitiveness, and growth of girls high school hockey throughout Michigan while providing an efficient and exciting scouting environment.
Following the showcase games, players took part in the Skills Competition, which included Agility, Hardest Shot, Fastest Skater, and Shootout events for both skaters and goaltenders. Athletes competed within their respective divisions—Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3—with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers recognized in each event.
A special thank you goes to Coach Paul from Regina/LHN, whose vision, planning, and leadership were instrumental in making this event possible. The Board also extends its gratitude to Blueline Hockey for running a smooth, well-organized, and exciting skills competition.
The event drew strong interest from college coaches and recruiters, who evaluated players both in person and remotely via LiveBarn. At one point during the skills competition, there were nearly 1,500 fans in the stands- an incredible testament to the excitement surrounding the event and the league.
Congratulations to all the players who competed and represented their programs with pride, and thank you to the families, fans, volunteers, and partners who continue to support the MGHSHL. Events like this showcase the strength of our league and the bright future of girls high school hockey in Michigan.
