Karrie grew up in Rhode Island playing youth hockey and high school hockey. She then moved to Ann Arbor to attend the University of Michigan and played ice hockey all four years on the Women's team where she was captain and vice president. 

Karrie graduated from the University of Michigan in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology. Since, she has worked for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Michigan as a Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator.
